Depending on the season, take your summer or winter clothes out of the closet so as not to freeze or to be too warmly dressed. Perhaps you also have some favorite items of clothing made from a certain material that you particularly enjoy wearing.
Bed linen is, so to speak, the clothing for your bed, which you should also “put on” according to the season in order to feel comfortable in it. Of course, first and foremost, the duvet has to suit your needs and the time of year, but the bedding is the only thing that you come into direct contact with. Here, too, there is a multitude of materials that feel differently on the skin. Below is a description of the different types of bed linen. In this way you can quickly and easily find out which bed linen suits you.
Some types of fabric warm and are therefore more suitable for the cold season. Still others are pleasantly cool and particularly absorbent, which ensures a pleasant sleeping environment in summer. In view of the wide range of bed linen on offer, uncertainty quickly emerges as to which bed linen is the right one.
Renforcé bed linen:
Renforcé is the standard weave for cotton fabrics. The medium-fine fabric is very hard-wearing. The fabric has a pleasantly soft feel and a smooth surface. The allergy-friendly bed linen made from Renforcé is temperature-regulating due to the cotton and can absorb moisture well. Therefore, it is perfect as a light summer bed linen.
Jersey bed linen:
Jersey is a climate-regulating knitted fabric that is particularly soft, slightly elastic and supple (similar to a T-shirt fabric). The bed linen is completely iron-free and therefore very easy to care for. Due to the high absorbency, jersey bed linen is perfect for the summer. Since the fabric also has a climate-regulating effect, Jersey can also be used as all-season bed linen. In this case, it is advisable to buy bed linen made from interlock jersey, which is slightly warmer and thicker than single jersey.
Seersucker bed linen:
Non-iron seersucker bed linen is classically recognizable by its streaky crepe effect. The light bed linen is soft and supple. The crepe structure creates a slight air circulation and the bed linen is very comfortable, especially in the warm season.
Percale bed linen:
Percale bed linen is particularly durable. The rather firm fabric with a smooth surface is very fine and tightly woven (like blouse or shirt fabric). The breathable bed linen is pleasantly cool on the skin on hot summer nights. By using pure cotton, percale is very skin-friendly.
Linon bed linen:
Linon bed linen is made of 100% cotton and is particularly comfortable in the summer months. Linon is particularly popular in the field of children’s bed linen because of its attractive price. The smooth bed linen is hard-wearing and durable.
Fine plain & flannel bed linen:
Both fine plain and flannel are the classics of winter bed linen. Due to the slightly roughened surface and the thick fabric quality, the bed linen is pleasantly warm. Fine beaver bed linen is particularly soft and cozy.
Cotton satin bed linen:
Very high quality and somewhat more expensive, but can be used all year round, is satin bed linen made of cotton. The Rolls-Royce of satin sheets is the Mako satin sheets. It is made of a particularly high-quality Mako cotton and has a fine sheen. Satin bed linen is supple and smooth, does not need to be ironed and has a pleasant temperature-regulating effect.
Silk bed linen:
You will sleep very luxuriously in elegant, shiny silk bed linen. Of all the fabrics, silk is most similar to our skin and is therefore particularly pleasant and supple. For those allergic to house dust, silk is ideal as it does not provide a habitat for mites. Silk also has a healing effect on skin problems and neurodermatitis. Silk bed linen is perfect as a year-round bed linen, as it warms in winter and cools in summer.
