It is bordered by Massachusetts to the south, Vermont to the west, Maine and the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and Canada to the north. The population of New Hampshire was estimated at 1,359,711 as of 2018, making it one of the least populous states in America. The largest cities are Manchester and Nashua with populations of about 110,000 each while smaller towns such as Portsmouth and Keene have populations below 20,000 each. The economy of New Hampshire relies heavily on tourism as well as manufacturing which includes aerospace components and electronics for military use among other industries. The state is home to some of the top-ranking schools in the nation, with high graduation rates and strong academic performance. New Hampshire’s public schools are committed to providing a quality education for all students, regardless of background or financial means.
